Dewdrop Inn

Note the very thin area that is in focus.  A band about one-half inch thick going from left-to-right.  Three dewdrops in focus, everything else is blurry.
 
This "narrow depth of field" draws the viewer to the primary subject - the dewdrops.
 
Use this technique in portraiture by focusing your lens on the subject's eyes.
